Youth Centers
Friendships reach kids on the streets and provide them with a safe haven at our youth centers. Here, kids can find retreat from drugs, gangs, sex, and alcohol, which are prevalent in their youth culture today. Our centers are strategically located near low income housing complexes and offer such activities as: recreation, bible study, fellowship, music & song, tutoring, and computer labs. Teens are given the opportunity to work on staff at CF and learn job skills, the ability to work with others and good employment ethics.
We touch lives everyday through faith centered relationships and continue to deepen their hope for the future through:
- trips
- retreats
- youth clubs
- leadership training
- our college scholarship funds
Rock Island Youth Center
The first youth center building to be operated by CF, the Rock Island Youth Center opened its doors in January of 1995. This center came into existence during a time of heightened gang activity in the west end of Rock Island and was commissioned by the mayor's task force of Rock Island to provide a safe haven from the streets. The center offers an indoor basketball court, a performance stage, and an abundance of space for large groups to gather.
